Join us to learn how to launch or grow your fashion business online! This workshop will cover the basics you need know to start an online fashion business.
This workshop is the first session in a 6-part series dedicated to fashion entrepreneurs.
This series will run on Tuesdays from September 13th through October 18th.
Part 1 Intro to Fashion as a Business
In this session, we will study the following questions:
What (or who) is your brand identity? Customer profiling and competitor research
Sewn products are traditionally INVENTORY businesses. What are your options?
Project and finance management. What hats will you need to wear?
Instructor
Lana Hogue
has worked in garment manufacturing for over 35 years. With extensive experience in production, quality control, and operations both in the U.S. and offshore including Asia, Mexico & Central America, South America, and Caribbean Basin. Ms. Hogue has worked as an employee or consultant to hundreds of companies from start-ups to $15 billion in sales. Her background includes management of product development and production at Betabrand, Triple Aught Design, Tea Living, Biscotti Inc., and Esprit, as well as business systems analysis at Byer California and Gap Inc. Having worked for 6 years on a compliance project with the Department of Labor, she is well versed in California garment labor law. Lana currently serves as Director of Supply Chain at Qhipas Shoes. While also conducting a workshop series on ethical sewn-product manufacturing at www.garmentindustry411.com.
There is a new way to register! You can now register using your client profile. By setting up a client profile, you will not have to fill out the same personal information for each workshop you register for, making it faster and easier in the long run!
a) If you already have a Client Portal Profile, click the Register button below.
- In the Client Portal, go to the Calendar tab (top left) and select Fashion Series: Part 1 Intro to Fashion as a Business (WBC 9/13/22), click enroll, answer the questions, and submit! You will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link.
b) If you don’t have a Client Portal profile, create one at this link. Make sure to use the same email address you have used in the past with Renaissance. You may change it later, but this allows our system to recognize you.
If you already have an intake form on file, you’ll see the Calendar tab in the top left.
If you do not, you will need to fill one out before you can see the Calendar tab. It may also ask you to update your information. The user interface isn’t perfect, so make sure to scroll up and keep clicking “Continue” or “Sign” in order to complete the forms. If you have any problems during this, please contact Isla Covarrubias at wbc@rencenter.org.
Once the Calendar tab is visible, you can register by going to your profile’s calendar tab and selecting Fashion Series: Part 1 Intro to Fashion as a Business (WBC 9/13/22), hit enroll, answer the questions and submit! You will receive a confirmation email with the Zoom link.
