Drug Uses
Albuterol is a sympathomimetic bronchodilator. It is used for treatment of breathing problems in patients who have asthma or certain other breathing diseases. It can also be used for other conditions as determined by your physician.
How Taken
Albuterol should be taken with or without a meal. Albuterol works for up to 8 hours or more. Do not stop using this drug or change the prescribed dosage without your doctor`s approval. Consult your doctor regarding the dosage suitable for your condition.
Additional Information
Albuterol may cause dizziness or lightheadedness.
These effects can worsen if Albuterol is taken with
alcohol. Use Albuterol with caution. Do not drive or perform
other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how
you respond to this drug. If your
symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor.
If your ordinary dose does not work well,
your symptoms become worse, or you need to use it more often
than normal, call your doctor
at once. This can be a sign of seriously worsening
asthma. Your physician can need to change
your dose or medicine. Albuterol should be used only by the
patient for whom it has been prescribed. Do not take less or
more or take it more often than prescribed by your physician.
