2009 Organizational Accomplishments
• Business Incubator client Alex Salazar, of Salazar Architects Studio, Inc. received the 2009 Young Professionals & Associates Award from the American Institute of Architects (AIA) – San Francisco as well as the 2009 San Francisco Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year Award for his community-focused work.
• Renaissance received the San Francisco Small Business Network’s Small Business Advocate Award 2009.
• Sharon Miller, CEO, received the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), San Francisco Chapter’s 2009 Social Entrepreneur Award.
• 612 low to moderate income entrepreneurs started and expanded their own businesses helping them become financially self-sufficient and contribute to the economic vitality of their communities.
• Renaissance’s Financing Resource Center (FRC) secured 19 small business loans and lines of credit totaling $190,000.
• 1611 very low to moderate income entrepreneurs gained access to small business training and services to grow their business management skills in our Bayview Business Resource Center (Ren/BBRC).
• Renaissance’s media outreach has resulted in several television features on NBC Channel 11, ABC Channel 7 News, and Univision Channel 14, and several mentions in the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Examiner, The HP Journal, Bayview Footprints, San Francisco Business Times, KTVU Channel 2 Morning News, among others.
