Get Involved For over 25 years, Renaissance has been providing Bay Area women and men with the tools and training they need to create their own businesses and jobs, within an ongoing, dynamic community of support to help their businesses succeed.
In the midst of our country’s economic crisis Renaissance Entrepreneurship Center is a beacon of hope, creating true economic opportunity. Working with low income women and men who are striving to help themselves, Renaissance is helping our clients achieve economic self-sufficiency by starting and growing small businesses that create jobs and enrich communities.
Last year, over 1,600 people came to Renaissance’s Centers in South of Market, Bayview Hunters Point, East Palo Alto, and offsite programs in Richmond, CA for help starting new businesses, expanding existing ones, writing business plans, accessing networks, capital, and business incubation, and much more. As the needs continue to increase, we anticipate that our enrollment will grow by at least 20% in 2010.
As Renaissance expands entrepreneurship opportunities we are making significant contributions to individuals and communities in need. The impact of our programs is clear:
- 77% of clients who entered Renaissance in the pre-business stage were operating a business one year later.
- 97% of graduates who entered Renaissance with an existing business are operating them today.
- The median gross revenue of graduates who are in business full-time is $52,000.
